Oh how I love a big, fat and juicy burger! There are so many different ways to flavor the patty and even more ways to dress it up. Tonight I decided to make a true BBQ burger with some onions and mushrooms that I sautéed in bacon grease. I complemented these flavors with some creamy gouda and crisp lettuce and topped it with my favorite ingredient of all time: bacon! The thick patties were seasoned with an all purpose burger spice and mixed with chopped up onions and garlic prior to hitting the grill.
To cut through the rich flavors of the burger, I composed a fresh salad with sweet strawberries and a balsamic citrus dressing. I am in heaven!
